Heritage Assistant (Internship)
Chaumet — Paris: Heritage Assistant Internship (6 months) at Place Vendôme. Support archives, collections cataloguing and exhibition logistics.
Overview
Chaumet is a Parisian haute-joaillerie Maison within the LVMH Group, renowned for its artisanal savoir-faire, historic collections and contemporary creative vision. Based on Place Vendôme, the Maison combines jewellery craftsmanship, curatorial practice and cultural programming, offering an environment where heritage conservation and creative innovation intersect.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Conservator of Archives and the Heritage team in daily operations across archives, collections and exhibitions.
- Populate and enrich the collections management database; create and update documentary files in paper and digital formats.
- Monitor auction markets and maintain tracking spreadsheets related to acquisitions, sales and provenance.
- Assist historical research and authentication work to respond to requests from after-sales, auctioneers and dealers.
- Catalog and describe library items within the Heritage library and support digitization and indexing workflows.
- Provide logistical and administrative support: coordinate transports of valuables, manage schedules, organise meetings and draft minutes, and follow up on quotes.
- Maintain and update the Heritage contact database, perform data completion and verification.
- Contribute to the organisation of exhibitions and events: prepare lists of works, handle loan correspondence and contracts, coordinate transports and assist with installation and dismantling.
- Participate in guided visits of the in-house installation at 12 Place Vendôme.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master-level programme (Bac+4/5) in History, Heritage, Art History, Museology (e.g. École du Louvre), business school or equivalent university training.
- Knowledge of jewellery history or gemmology is a plus.
- Methodical approach, strong attention to detail and rigorous documentation practices.
- Discretion and respect for confidentiality when handling sensitive objects and records.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team spirit.
- High availability, adaptability, responsiveness and operational versatility.
- Strong written communication skills and good command of English.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Entry-level — suitable for current students or recent graduates. No prior professional experience required; the role is a six-month internship providing hands-on experience in heritage conservation, archives and collections management.
Education
Master-level (Bac+4/5) student or recent graduate in History, Heritage, Art History, Museology, or equivalent.
