Chanel is hiring a Watches & Fine Jewellery Technician in Sydney to service and repair luxury timepieces and jewellery.
Overview

Role & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, servicing, repair and adjustment of mechanical and quartz watch movements in accordance with Chanel technical standards.
- Execute restorative and preventative maintenance on fine jewellery, including stone setting, sizing, soldering and polishing to boutique-ready finish.
- Use timing machines, microscopes, ultrasonic cleaners and precision hand tools to test, calibrate and verify functionality and aesthetics.
- Document repair workflows, parts used and service histories in the workshop management system; ensure traceability and warranty compliance.
- Liaise with boutique sales teams and clients to communicate work scope, timelines and technical recommendations while maintaining strict client confidentiality.
- Manage parts inventory, order replacement components and coordinate with external suppliers or brand ateliers when specialist work is required.
- Uphold brand quality control by performing final inspections and ensuring all work meets Chanel’s finish and performance criteria.
Qualifications
- Formal watchmaking qualification (e.g., WOSTEP or equivalent) and/or recognised jewellery repair/gemmology credential preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and quartz movements, basic horological theory and jewellery construction techniques.
- Demonstrable experience working to luxury brand standards, with meticulous attention to surface finish and stone security.
- High level of manual dexterity, patience and ability to work under precision-timed processes.
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years’ practical experience in watch servicing and jewellery repair within a luxury or specialist workshop environment; experience with high-end complications and gem-set pieces is advantageous.
Education
Trade qualification or diploma in watchmaking, horology or jewellery repair; vocational apprenticeship or recognised industry certification preferred.
