Chanel seeks a Visual Merchandising Intern in Zurich to support window and in-store displays, technical prep and creative production.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the Visual Merchandising team in the conception, preparation and installation of window and in-store displays in accordance with Chanel visual directives.
  • Prepare technical plans, shop drawings and scale mock-ups to translate creative concepts into executable store projects.
  • Assist with sourcing, handling and maintenance of props, mannequins and display elements; supervise on-site set-up and dismantle operations.
  • Document installations through photography and detailed reports; maintain visual merchandising archives and asset inventories.
  • Coordinate with retail store teams, regional VM managers and external vendors to ensure timely delivery and consistency across points of sale.
  • Contribute to trend and materials research, participating in creative briefings and visual concept development as required.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree in Visual Merchandising, Interior Design, Set Design, Fashion Design or a related discipline.
  • Portfolio demonstrating sense of composition, three-dimensional thinking and prior display or set work (academic or professional) is required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Comfort with physically demanding tasks, including lifting and on-site installation work; flexible availability for occasional travel to stores.
  • Interest in luxury retail and sensitivity to brand heritage and presentation standards; collaborative mindset and professional demeanour.

Experience

No specific professional tenure required; prior internships or part‑time experience in retail, visual merchandising or display design are advantageous and will be considered favourably.

Education

Enrolled in or recently completed post‑secondary studies in visual merchandising, interior or spatial design, set design, fashion or a closely related field.
