Visual Merchandising Assistant (Internship)
Chanel in Nice seeks a Visual Merchandising Assistant (Internship) starting January 2023 to support boutique visual operations across the South region.
Overview

Role & Responsibilities
- Support execution of the global visual merchandising guidelines across the Southern France boutique network, ensuring brand standards and seasonal themes are applied consistently.
- Assist with window and in-store display installation, prop placement, fixture dressing and merchandising resets for new collections and campaigns.
- Collaborate with boutique teams and the regional VM manager to plan and stage visual roll-outs, on-site adjustments and event-related displays.
- Prepare and maintain visual assets inventory, photograph installations for documentation, and assist in sourcing or adapting props and materials.
- Contribute to shop-floor merchandising tasks as needed (product blocking, signage placement, stock rotation) and provide feedback to retail teams on presentation improvements.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree or professional programme in visual merchandising, fashion, retail design, scenography or a related discipline.
- Strong visual sensitivity, aesthetic judgement and attention to detail aligned with luxury-brand standards.
- Ability to work on physical installations, including lifting and using basic hand tools; willingness to travel across the South region as required.
- Availability to start in January 2023 and comply with French internship regulations (convention de stage).
Skills
Experience
Prior experience in a retail environment or previous internships/academic projects in visual merchandising or store design is preferred; hands-on exposure to boutique operations and customer-facing retail is an advantage.
Education
Student or recent graduate in visual merchandising, fashion, retail design, scenography, or a related programme (academic internship required).
