Chanel in Macau seeks a Tailor to perform bespoke fittings and luxury garment alterations for clients in the boutique.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Execute precise alterations and bespoke adjustments on haute couture, ready‑to‑wear and leather goods to Chanel fit and finish standards.
  • Conduct client fittings, take detailed measurements and provide professional fit consultations to private and retail clients.
  • Interpret patterns and perform pattern modifications, draping and re-cutting to achieve intended silhouette and proportion.
  • Perform high-quality hand‑sewing, machine stitching, pressing and finishing using techniques appropriate for delicate and luxury fabrics.
  • Manage repair requests and restoration work, ensuring longevity and discrete handling of client garments.
  • Maintain tailoring workstation and equipment; manage inventories of threads, linings, buttons and bespoke materials.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, client advisors and atelier teams to prioritise bespoke orders and meet delivery timelines.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and impeccable presentation when dealing with high‑net‑worth clientele and private commissions.

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification or diploma in tailoring, garment construction or fashion technology, or equivalent apprenticeship.
  • Demonstrable mastery of hand‑sewing techniques, pattern alteration and fine finishing appropriate to luxury garments.
  • Strong eye for detail, fabric behaviour and garment construction with the ability to work on delicate materials (silk, cashmere, leather).
  • Excellent client‑facing communication skills and discretion when handling private or bespoke commissions.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet strict delivery schedules in a boutique environment.

Experience

Typically 3+ years of professional tailoring experience, preferably within luxury fashion, couture ateliers or high‑end retail tailoring services.

Education

Diploma or vocational qualification in tailoring, garment construction, fashion design, or completion of a formal tailoring apprenticeship; equivalent professional experience accepted.
