Chanel is hiring a Tailor in Hong Kong to perform couture‑level alterations and fittings for luxury clients.

Role & Responsibilities
- Execute precise alterations and bespoke tailoring for ready‑to‑wear and couture garments, including complex structural modifications and re‑construction work.
- Conduct client measurements and fittings; advise clients on fit solutions and document alteration instructions and timelines.
- Perform high‑quality hand‑sewing and machine‑sewing operations (finishing, hems, linings, buttonholes, zippers) consistent with couture standards.
- Repair, restore and reinforce luxury fabrics and components (silk, tweed, wool, leather) while preserving garment integrity and provenance.
- Collaborate closely with boutique sales teams and the atelier to prioritise deadlines, manage client expectations and ensure on‑time delivery.
- Undertake quality control on completed work, ensuring finishes meet Chanel’s aesthetic and technical specifications.
- Maintain tailoring work area and equipment; perform routine maintenance and manage supplies inventory.
- Uphold strict client confidentiality and deliver discreet, client‑centric service at all times.
Qualifications
- Vocational diploma in tailoring, fashion technology or equivalent apprenticeship; equivalent professional experience accepted.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in tailoring, luxury alterations or couture ateliers, with demonstrable work on high‑end garments.
- Advanced knowledge of garment construction, pattern alteration and couture finishing techniques.
- Proven proficiency in hand‑sewing and use of industrial/domestic sewing machines and overlockers.
- Experience handling delicate and structured luxury fabrics (silk, tweed, leather) and complex trims.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and a client‑facing, professional demeanor.

Experience
Minimum 3+ years of professional tailoring experience within luxury ready‑to‑wear, couture or bespoke alteration environments, with a portfolio of complex alterations and fine‑fabric work.
Education
Vocational diploma in tailoring, fashion technology or completion of a recognised tailoring apprenticeship; equivalent practical experience accepted.
