Stock Controller

Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory through regular cycle counts, full stocktakes and reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Receive, inspect and process incoming deliveries; verify quantities and quality against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Manage stockroom organisation, ensuring stock is accessible, secure and catalogued according to Chanel standards.
- Coordinate replenishment with sales teams and visual merchandising to ensure floor availability and rapid response to demand.
- Operate stock management and ERP systems to record movements, adjustments and transfers; produce daily and ad-hoc inventory reports.
- Investigate and resolve stock variances, liaising with loss-prevention and operations teams to implement corrective actions.
- Support seasonal stock transitions, returns processing and inter-store transfers with precise documentation.
- Train and supervise temporary or seasonal staff during peak periods to maintain inventory control procedures and data integrity.
Qualifications
- Proven attention to detail and numerical accuracy in fast-paced retail environments.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and maintain meticulous records.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with sales, visual merchandising and logistics stakeholders.
- Physically capable of handling stock tasks (lifting, unpacking, extended periods standing).
- Right to work in the UK and flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends and peak seasonal periods.
- Discretion and professionalism appropriate to a luxury retail environment.
Skills
Experience
Typically 2+ years of hands-on stock control or inventory management experience within retail, preferably in luxury fashion or a premium department store setting; experience in high-volume boutique or Harrods-style environments is advantageous.
Education
GCSEs or equivalent; A-levels or vocational qualification in logistics, retail operations or business administration desirable.
