Chanel seeks a Senior Manager, Employee Relations in Los Angeles to lead investigations, complex case resolution and ER strategy.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the employee relations function for assigned U.S. business units, including intake, investigation, resolution and documentation of complex employee relations cases.
  • Provide pragmatic, risk‑based counsel to HR Business Partners and senior leaders on performance management, disciplinary action, misconduct, workplace conduct, and accommodations.
  • Design, implement and maintain ER policies, case management workflows and investigation protocols that ensure legal compliance and consistency across the region.
  • Partner closely with Legal, Talent Acquisition and Compensation teams on escalated matters, litigation risk mitigation and cross-functional remediation plans.
  • Coaching and training leaders on difficult conversations, progressive discipline, performance improvement plans and employee separation best practices.
  • Develop ER metrics and dashboards to track trends, root causes and recommended interventions; present findings and strategic recommendations to senior HR leadership.
  • Drive proactive initiatives to reduce employee relations risk, including targeted manager training, culture interventions and change management support for organizational redesigns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
  • SHRM‑SCP, SPHR or equivalent senior HR certification preferred.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion handling highly sensitive, confidential matters.
  • Authorization to work in the United States required.

Experience

Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years focused on employee/industrial relations and investigations; demonstrated experience leading complex investigations and advising senior leaders. Prior exposure to a luxury, retail or consumer goods environment is strongly preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required; master’s degree or advanced HR certification preferred.
