Chanel seeks a Quality & Regulatory Engineering Assistant (apprenticeship) in Paris — alternance starting Sept 2026 in the fashion quality team.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the quality and regulatory engineering team in defining and maintaining product technical files and specifications for fashion collections.
  • Assist with laboratory testing coordination, sample inspections, and verification of compliance against internal quality standards and external regulations.
  • Contribute to regulatory reviews for materials, trims and finished goods (labelling, safety, chemical compliance) and maintain up-to-date documentation.
  • Track and report non-conformities, support root-cause analysis and corrective action plans in collaboration with suppliers, production and sourcing.
  • Prepare technical reports, maintain quality logs and contribute to internal audits and supplier assessments.
  • Monitor regulatory developments relevant to textiles and consumer goods and help implement required changes to processes or documentation.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in engineering, materials science, textile engineering, quality management or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong analytical skills, rigor in documentation and attention to detail.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally with design, sourcing, production and external laboratories.

Skills

Quality control and product testing protocols Regulatory compliance for textiles and chemicals (e.g., REACH, Oeko‑Tex — knowledge preferred) Non-conformance reporting and CAPA methodology Technical documentation and product specification management Cross-functional coordination with suppliers and manufacturing Microsoft Excel and standard office software Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems (advantageous)

Experience

Prior internship experience in quality assurance, product testing, regulatory affairs or a related role is advantageous but not mandatory; the position is structured for students in an alternating apprenticeship programme.

Education

Enrolled in a relevant technical or engineering degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s level) in textiles, materials, quality, or related field.
