Project Lead — Architect

Overview

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architectural delivery for retail and corporate projects in the India region, ensuring alignment with Chanel brand standards and design intent.
• Develop and issue technical documentation: schematic designs, construction drawings, detail packages, specifications and material schedules.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders including in-house design teams, project managers, visual merchandising, procurement and external consultants (MEP, structural, FF&E).
• Manage local contractors and vendors: tendering, bid evaluation, contract administration, construction supervision and punch-list resolution.
• Control project budgets and schedules; implement value engineering without compromising brand quality or client experience.
• Ensure compliance with local codes, statutory approvals and health & safety regulations throughout design and construction phases.
• Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks; resolve on-site technical issues and approve workmanship.
• Represent the brand in client meetings, design reviews and regulatory submissions; prepare progress reports and documentation for leadership.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) or equivalent.
• Registered architect or eligibility for local professional registration (Council of Architecture or equivalent) preferred.
• Demonstrable portfolio of completed retail or luxury hospitality projects with strong technical detailing.

Skills

Experience

Approximately 8+ years of professional architectural experience, with at least 3–5 years leading medium-to-large retail or luxury fit-out projects and proven experience managing consultants and contractors through construction delivery.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture (B.Arch / M.Arch) or equivalent professional qualification.
