Product Development Assistant — Footwear
Chanel in Firenze Osmannoro seeks a Product Development Assistant — Footwear on a fixed-term contract. Location: Florence (Firenze Osmannoro).

Role & Responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end development process for footwear ranges, from concept to production release.
- Prepare and maintain technical packages/specifications, material boards and bill of materials for shoe models.
- Coordinate sample requests, prototype tracking and fitting sessions with design, pattern and quality teams.
- Liaise with external suppliers and internal production planners to monitor timelines, costs and sample approvals.
- Track development status and update development calendars; ensure traceability of comments and version control.
- Contribute to quality reviews and provide corrective feedback to suppliers and internal teams during pre-production phases.
- Assist in cost monitoring, component sourcing and documentation required for production launch.
Qualifications
- Practical knowledge of footwear construction, materials and componentry.
- Ability to read and prepare technical drawings, spec sheets and size gradings.
- Strong organizational aptitude with the ability to manage multiple concurrent development tracks.
- Effective interpersonal skills for cross-functional coordination with design, sourcing and manufacturing partners.
- High attention to detail and commitment to product quality and brand standards.
Skills
Experience
Typically 1–3 years of hands-on experience in footwear product development, technical design or a closely related role within fashion or leather goods. Experience working with suppliers and attending fit sessions is highly desirable.
Education
Degree or vocational qualification in footwear design, industrial design, fashion product development, or equivalent practical experience.
