People & Organisation Generalist — Retail
Chanel is recruiting a People & Organisation Generalist, Retail in New South Wales (Sydney) to deliver HR programs and retail people strategies across boutiques.

Role & Responsibilities
- Act as the primary HR contact for retail teams across the New South Wales region, partnering with store managers to deliver people-related programs and day-to-day HR support.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding for boutique roles, ensuring selection and induction processes align with Chanel's customer-facing standards.
- Provide employee relations advice and case management, including performance improvement, disciplinary processes and exit management, ensuring compliance with Australian employment law.
- Support performance management and talent development initiatives, including coaching managers, implementing appraisal cycles and coordinating learning interventions.
- Administer workforce planning, rostering guidance and leave management in partnership with retail operations and payroll teams.
- Drive employee engagement and recognition activities specific to the retail environment, and contribute to retention strategies for front-line talent.
- Maintain and implement HR policies and procedures within stores, ensuring adherence to modern awards, workplace health & safety and regulatory obligations.
- Produce regular HR reporting and insights (turnover, headcount, engagement metrics) to inform regional decisions and measure program impact.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline; or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Relevant HR certification or membership (e.g., AHRI) is advantageous.
- Sound working knowledge of Australian industrial relations and the Fair Work framework.
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years' HR generalist experience, ideally within retail, luxury goods, or other customer-facing environments, with demonstrable experience partnering with frontline managers and handling employee relations matters.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent professional experience; formal HR certification is desirable.
