Packaging Compatibility Manager
Chanel in Pantin seeks a Packaging Compatibility Manager (Full-time) to lead packaging validation and supplier coordination for cosmetics and luxury products.

Role & Responsibilities
- Define, maintain and control packaging compatibility specifications across product categories (cosmetics, fragrance, leather goods, accessories).
- Lead materials compatibility testing and validation programmes (chemical interaction, migration, barrier performance, sealing and closure integrity).
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders including Product Development, R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, Procurement and external packaging suppliers to resolve compatibility issues and approve technical samples.
- Manage packaging change control, technical documentation and approval workflows; ensure traceability of specifications and test results.
- Initiate root-cause analysis and corrective actions for packaging failures observed in production, assembly or market complaints.
- Contribute to packaging innovation and sustainability objectives by evaluating alternative materials and advising on recyclability / reuse implications.
- Prepare technical reports, risk assessments and supplier scorecards; present findings to internal technical committees.
- Support supplier qualification activities and perform on-site technical audits when required.
Qualifications
- Degree in packaging engineering, materials science, chemistry, polymer science, industrial engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in packaging compatibility, validation or materials testing within cosmetics, fragrance, personal care or luxury goods.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials (glass, plastics, metal, paperboard), adhesives and closure systems, and their interactions with formulated products.
- Familiarity with packaging testing methodologies and laboratory protocols; ability to interpret analytical results and draw technical conclusions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills; fluent technical reporting capabilities.
- Strong organisational skills with experience managing parallel development streams and technical approvals.

Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in packaging validation, compatibility testing or packaging engineering, preferably within cosmetics, fragrance, personal care or luxury fashion brands.
Education
Bachelor's degree in packaging engineering, materials science, chemistry, polymer science, industrial engineering or equivalent; Master's preferred.
