Chanel is hiring a Merchandising Assistant Intern in Brussels to support assortment planning, sales analysis and retail merchandising.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the merchandising team in assortment planning and seasonal range management for the Brussels retail network.
  • Compile and analyse sales, stock and sell-through data to produce clear, actionable reports and dashboards.
  • Assist with stock allocation and replenishment decisions in collaboration with retail and supply-chain colleagues.
  • Prepare product presentations, line sheets and merchandising materials for internal stakeholders and store teams.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to inform assortment choices and promotional planning.
  • Coordinate with visual merchandising and store operations to ensure on-brand floor sets and product placement.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects, ensuring timely follow-up on action points and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor’s or master’s programme in fashion business, merchandising, retail management, business or a related discipline.
  • Strong numerical literacy and capacity to translate data into concise commercial recommendations.
  • High attention to detail and organisational rigour; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional manner when liaising with internal teams and store personnel.
  • Proactive mindset with a demonstrable interest in luxury fashion and product curation.
  • Working proficiency in English; French (and/or Dutch) is highly desirable given the Brussels location.

Experience

Previous internship or practical experience in retail, product merchandising, buying or retail analytics is advantageous but not mandatory. Demonstrable coursework or academic projects in merchandising, assortment planning or retail analysis will be considered positively.

Education

Enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fashion Business, Merchandising, Retail Management, Business or a related field.
