Chanel in Paris seeks a Merchandising Assistant (Alternance) for Europe Export Marketing — apprenticeship starting Sept 2026.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the Europe merchandising and export marketing teams in assortment planning, seasonal line reviews and product allocation across markets.
  • Prepare and maintain sales, inventory and sell-through reports to inform replenishment and allocation decisions.
  • Coordinate with regional retail, wholesale and supply-chain partners to ensure timely deliveries and optimal stock distribution.
  • Contribute to pricing, promotional and launch calendars; assist in preparing business cases and commercial presentations for stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform assortment recommendations and localized merchandising tactics.
  • Ensure data integrity in merchandising systems and support ad hoc analyses requested by the commercial team.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Fashion Business, Merchandising, Business, Marketing or a related discipline (alternance/apprenticeship eligible).
  • Strong numerical aptitude with the ability to interpret sales and inventory metrics.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage competing priorities.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to liaise across commercial, retail and supply-chain teams.
  • Right to work in France for the duration of the alternance contract.

Experience

Previous internship(s) or practical experience in merchandising, retail operations or commercial planning is preferred; work experience may range from none to a few internships consistent with an apprenticeship profile.

Education

Currently enrolled in higher education (Bachelor or Master) in Fashion Business, Merchandising, Business, Marketing or a related field; alternance/apprenticeship format required.
