Materials Selection Project Trainee (Work-Study)
Chanel in Pantin seeks a Materials Selection Project Trainee (alternance) to support material sourcing, sample coordination and technical dossiers for product development.

Role & Responsibilities
- Support the materials selection process across product categories by preparing technical dossiers, comparative analyses and selection recommendations.
- Coordinate sample requests, track laboratory tests and follow up on prototype deliveries to ensure adherence to project timelines.
- Liaise with internal design, development and quality teams to translate creative briefs into technical specifications and material choices.
- Communicate with suppliers to source materials, obtain costing information and monitor compliance with product and sustainability standards.
- Maintain and update material libraries, databases and PLM records; prepare presentations and reports for project reviews.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a work‑study (alternance) Bachelor's or Master's program in Textiles, Materials Science, Fashion Product Development or a closely related discipline.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent samples and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical specification and testing data.
- Professional communication skills for supplier interaction and cross‑functional collaboration.
Skills
Experience
Work‑study candidates are expected to be currently enrolled in a relevant academic program; prior internships or project experience in materials, textile development or product sourcing are advantageous but not mandatory.
Education
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Textiles, Materials Science, Fashion/Product Development or a related field (alternance/work‑study required).
