Chanel seeks a Makeup Specialist in Kuala Lumpur to deliver luxury beauty consultations and drive counter sales.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised, luxury makeup consultations and demonstrations at the Chanel counter or boutique, tailoring application to individual client needs and occasions.
  • Achieve and exceed retail sales targets through expert product recommendation, upselling and sustained client relationships (clienteling).
  • Maintain immaculate presentation of the makeup counter, tools and samples in line with Chanel visual and hygiene standards.
  • Provide expert colour analysis and skincare advice that integrates Chanel make-up and skincare ranges.
  • Manage product stock on the counter, assist with merchandising and ensure timely replenishment and inventory accuracy.
  • Support promotional events, private appointments and in-store masterclasses; collaborate with store management and regional teams for product launches.
  • Record client preferences and purchase history in the CRM or POS system and follow up to build long-term loyalty.

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification or diploma in cosmetology, makeup artistry or equivalent vocational certification preferred.
  • Demonstrable ability to deliver high-quality makeup application for retail clients.
  • Polished professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills appropriate to a luxury environment.
  • Availability to work retail hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
  • Right to work in Malaysia and ability to comply with local employment requirements.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years' professional experience in a luxury cosmetics counter, boutique or as a freelance/agency makeup artist; experience with prestige beauty brands is highly desirable.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational diploma/certificate in cosmetology or professional makeup artistry preferred.
