Make Up Specialist
Chanel is hiring a Make Up Specialist in Kuching to deliver luxury beauty services, grow client relationships and meet retail sales targets.

Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver bespoke makeup services and personalised beauty consultations for clients in accordance with Chanel’s brand standards.
- Demonstrate and sell the full range of Chanel beauty products, converting consultations into purchases and achieving individual sales targets and KPIs.
- Build and maintain a professional client book through proactive clienteling, appointment management and follow-up communications.
- Provide expert skin analysis, colour matching and product recommendations tailored to each client’s needs and preferences.
- Maintain immaculate presentation of the beauty counter: merchandising, stock replenishment, back-stock control and visual standards.
- Ensure strict hygiene and sanitation protocols for all tools, testers and work areas; comply with health and safety regulations.
- Support promotional activities and in-store events, including makeup masterclasses and bespoke client experiences.
- Operate retail POS systems, accurately process transactions and assist with basic inventory administration and reporting.
- Collaborate with store leadership and the wider team to share product knowledge and contribute to a high-performance retail environment.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification or certificate in makeup artistry, cosmetology or beauty therapy, or equivalent professional training.
- Proven retail experience within luxury beauty or premium cosmetics brands, preferably 2+ years in a client-facing makeup role.
- Demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a retail or boutique setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-centric, service-oriented approach.
- Availability to work retail hours, including weekends, evenings and public holidays; flexibility for promotional events.
Skills
Experience
Typically 2+ years of hands-on experience as a professional makeup artist or beauty advisor within luxury cosmetics retail or a high-end salon environment, with documented sales performance and client development experience.
Education
Certificate or diploma in makeup artistry, cosmetology, beauty therapy or equivalent vocational training; secondary school completion required.
