Chanel seeks a Group Director, Visual Merchandising (South East) based in Atlanta, USA to lead regional VM strategy and execution.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the visual merchandising strategy for the South East region, ensuring alignment with global brand direction and seasonal campaigns.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a regional team of Visual Merchandisers and store-based VM leaders; set objectives, review performance and deliver continuous skills development.
  • Design and approve window concepts, in-store floor sets and visual guidelines for key launches, balancing creative ambition with commercial imperatives.
  • Collaborate with regional retail operations, store managers and merchandising planners to maximize sell-through, optimize product adjacencies and ensure consistent execution of VM standards.
  • Manage project timelines, vendor relationships and installation logistics for regional rollouts, pop-ups and seasonal resets, including budget oversight.
  • Partner with global creative, marketing and product teams to adapt global VM concepts to regional retail architecture and customer behaviours.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for visual impact and commercial performance; translate insights into iterative improvements and training modules.
  • Represent the brand on-site during major installs and provide hands-on direction to ensure highest standards of presentation.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership in luxury visual merchandising or retail design, with the ability to manage and inspire multi-location teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrable results linking visual strategy to sales performance and KPI improvement.
  • Exceptional aesthetic judgment with a deep understanding of luxury retail environments, materials and fabrication constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and present concepts to senior leadership.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across the region and to participate in hands-on store implementations.

Experience

Extensive experience in visual merchandising within the luxury retail sector; typically 8+ years with progressive responsibility including regional or multi-store leadership and proven delivery of commercial and creative outcomes.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Visual Merchandising, Retail Design, Fashion, Interior Design or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
