Chanel seeks a Fragrance Expert at Selfridges Oxford Street, London — luxury fragrance consultant focused on client experiences and retail performance.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised fragrance consultations and sensory experiences to high‑value clients, tailoring recommendations through consultative selling and scent layering techniques.
  • Achieve and exceed individual and store sales targets while contributing to overall boutique KPIs and house objectives.
  • Develop and maintain long‑term client relationships through proactive clienteling, follow‑ups, and bespoke service offerings.
  • Curate and maintain an immaculate visual presentation of the fragrance area in accordance with Chanel merchandising and visual standards.
  • Manage stock, samples and testers; perform merchandise replenishment and ensure accurate stock records and loss‑prevention practices.
  • Operate point‑of‑sale systems, process transactions, returns and exchanges, and support CRM data entry and maintenance.
  • Represent the brand at in‑store events, product launches and collaborations with Selfridges; support seasonal promotions and experiential activations.
  • Participate in mandatory brand training, product education and performance reviews to ensure deep product knowledge and service consistency.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in luxury beauty retail, perfumery or fragrance consultancy; experience within prestige or department store environments preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrable consultative selling ability and a client‑first orientation.
  • Strong sensory aptitude for olfactive families and perfume composition, with a demonstrable passion for luxury fragrances.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and peak retail periods.
  • Right to work in the UK and compliance with retailer security and regulatory policies.

Experience

Previous experience in luxury beauty retail or perfumery is required; ideally 1–3 years serving a high‑end clientele within flagship stores or premium department store concessions.

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications in beauty, cosmetics or retail sales are advantageous.
