Fixed Assets Accountant
Chanel — Fixed Assets Accountant (CDD) in Paris. Contract role responsible for fixed assets accounting, depreciation and month‑end close.

Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed assets ledger, ensuring completeness and accuracy of the asset register.
- Manage capitalization, disposals, transfers and impairments in accordance with applicable accounting standards (French GAAP and IFRS where relevant).
- Calculate and post monthly depreciation entries and perform month‑end and year‑end closing activities related to non‑current assets.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits, tax filings and internal controls testing.
- Coordinate physical asset inventories and support periodic asset audits and stocktakes.
- Implement and improve fixed assets processes, controls and documentation to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with treasury, purchasing, tax and operations teams on intercompany transactions, asset financing and project assetisation.
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; professional accounting qualification advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of fixed assets accounting, depreciation methods and capitalisation criteria under French GAAP and IFRS.
- Demonstrated proficiency in month‑end and year‑end closing procedures for non‑current assets.
- Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail, with strong documentation and control discipline.
- Professional fluency in French; working knowledge of English is advantageous.

Experience
Mid‑level accounting professional with approximately 3+ years of hands‑on experience in fixed assets or general accounting, preferably within a multinational, retail, manufacturing or luxury goods environment; prior exposure to ERP systems (ideally SAP FI‑AA) and audit cycles is desirable.
Education
Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; professional accounting certification is a plus.
