Data Model Architect
Chanel is hiring a Data Model Architect in Paris (permanent) to design enterprise data models and standards supporting analytics and governance.

Role & Responsibilities
- Define, design and maintain conceptual, logical and physical enterprise data models that support analytics, reporting and operational systems across the organisation.
- Establish and enforce data modelling standards, naming conventions and reusable patterns to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, BI teams and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust data structures.
- Design master data and reference models to underpin MDM initiatives and ensure data consistency across domains (product, customer, sales, inventory).
- Support implementation of data lineage, metadata management and model versioning to enable traceability and auditability.
- Validate and optimise models for performance and integration with ETL/data pipelines and downstream analytical platforms.
- Provide governance, training and documentation for modelling best practices and review third‑party model proposals.
- Participate in roadmap planning for data architecture evolution, including cloud migration and modernisation of data platforms.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven track record as a data modeller or data architect with significant responsibility for enterprise-scale models.
- Deep understanding of data modelling methodologies (conceptual, logical, physical) and domain modelling.
- Experience implementing data modelling standards and working within data governance frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, able to bridge technical and business audiences.
- Fluency with database technologies and demonstrated ability to validate models in production environments.

Experience
Significant experience (typically 5+ years) in enterprise data modelling or data architecture, ideally within retail, luxury goods, or consumer-facing organisations, with demonstrable delivery of models that support analytics, MDM and reporting at scale.
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
