Couturier — Fitter & Alterations Specialist
Chanel seeks a Couturier Fitter & Alterations Specialist in Paris (Avenue Montaigne) — permanent position for an experienced couture tailor.

Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct client fittings at the Avenue Montaigne location, advising on silhouette, fit and finishing while preserving the designer’s intent.
- Execute precision couture alterations and repairs by hand and machine, including fitting adjustments, hemming, padstitching, underlining and invisible finishes.
- Interpret patterns and make pattern modifications to achieve perfect fit across a range of couture and ready-to-wear constructions.
- Work closely with the boutique team, ateliers and production to track alteration requests, timelines and quality control.
- Prepare garments for delivery: final pressing, finishing, quality inspection and packaging to brand standards.
- Maintain meticulous records of measurements, alteration histories and client preferences while ensuring discretion and client confidentiality.
- Recommend fabric-appropriate techniques and liaise with suppliers or in-house specialists for complex repairs (linings, embellishments, leather).
- Contribute to continuous improvement of fitting protocols and uphold strict housekeeping and tool maintenance in the fitting room/atelier.
Qualifications
- Professional training in tailoring or couture (CAP, equivalent vocational diploma or formal apprenticeship preferred).
- Proven ability to execute couture hand-stitching and finishing techniques to luxury house standards.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern alteration and fabric behaviour (silk, wool, tweed, leather).
- Excellent client-facing manner, discretion and ability to collaborate with sales and atelier teams.
- Fluency with precise measurement-taking and documentary habits for client records.

Experience
Several years of hands-on experience in couture tailoring, high-end alterations or an atelier environment; demonstrable track record delivering flawless fittings for luxury clientele.
Education
Vocational diploma or certification in tailoring/couture (CAP or equivalent) preferred.
