Cashier (Fixed-term Contract)
Chanel in Nice seeks a Contract Cashier to manage POS operations and deliver exceptional client service at the boutique.

Role & Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale terminal accurately and efficiently, processing cash, card and other payment methods while ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Deliver discreet, personalised client service aligned with Chanel’s luxury standards, including greeting clients, handling enquiries and facilitating seamless transactions.
- Conduct end-of-shift cash reconciliation and maintain accurate till records; report and escalate discrepancies according to internal controls.
- Support the sales floor by assisting with clienteling, returns and exchanges, and by liaising with sales advisors to optimise the client experience.
- Maintain boutique presentation and merchandising standards at the checkout area and ensure confidentiality and security of client data and transactions.
- Participate in stock counts, administrative tasks and ad-hoc boutique operations as requested by the store management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail cash handling or boutique cashier role, preferably within a luxury or premium environment.
- Professional, polished presence with excellent interpersonal skills and a client-centric attitude.
- Strong numeracy and attention to detail; proven ability to reconcile tills and follow cash-management procedures.
- Availability to work a retail schedule including weekends and peak trading periods; flexibility for fixed-term contract requirements.
- Basic familiarity with point-of-sale systems and retail administration; integrity and respect for confidentiality are essential.
Skills
Experience
One to two years of retail experience handling transactions and client interactions is preferred; prior experience in a luxury boutique is an advantage.
Education
Secondary education (Baccalauréat or equivalent); vocational training in retail or hospitality is a plus.
