Chanel seeks an Automation Systems Operator in Compiegne, France — permanent role in Perfumes & Beauty manufacturing.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor automated production lines for perfumes and beauty products, ensuring continuous, safe, and efficient production.
  • Perform first-line preventive and corrective maintenance on electromechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment to minimise downtime.
  • Diagnose faults using control systems (PLCs, HMIs/SCADA) and coordinate escalation to maintenance or engineering teams when required.
  • Execute start-ups, changeovers and cleaning cycles in accordance with production plans and cosmetics hygiene/GMP requirements.
  • Maintain accurate production logs, shift handovers and traceability records to support quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring issues, proposing corrective actions and participating in improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices and local electrical safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma in Industrial Automation, Electrotechnics, Mechatronics, Maintenance or equivalent (BTS/DUT or similar).
  • Practical experience with automated production equipment and industrial control systems.
  • Knowledge of GMP/hygiene requirements applicable to cosmetics or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Authorization or training in electrical safety and confined-space/lockout procedures as required by local legislation.
  • Availability to work rotating shifts, overtime or production-driven schedules when necessary.

Experience

Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience operating and maintaining automated production systems; experience in cosmetics, pharmaceutical or FMCG manufacturing preferred.

Education

Technical diploma (BTS/DUT or equivalent) in Industrial Automation, Electrotechnics, Mechatronics, Maintenance or similar.
