Chanel seeks an Assistant Product Manager at Saks New York in New York — lead product assortment, inventory and vendor partnerships for the Chanel concession.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage the product assortment and lifecycle for Chanel’s concession at Saks New York, ensuring alignment with global merchandising directives and local market demand.
  • Execute seasonal buy plans and replenishment strategies to maximise sell-through while minimising stock exposure.
  • Collaborate with Saks buyers, visual merchandising and sales leadership to optimise floor sets, promotional activity and client-facing presentations.
  • Monitor inventory levels, analyse sales performance and implement corrective actions to meet KPI targets (sell-through, GMROI, stock turn).
  • Coordinate with Chanel internal teams (planning, allocation, logistics, product development) and third-party vendors to ensure timely delivery and compliance with brand standards.
  • Prepare regular merchandising reports and presentations for senior management, translating data into actionable recommendations.
  • Support training and coaching of in-store teams on product knowledge, clienteling and merchandising directives.
  • Ensure all merchandising and presentation standards meet Chanel’s aesthetic, quality and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Proven retail product or merchandising experience in the luxury or premium fashion sector.
  • Demonstrable understanding of assortment planning, allocation and inventory control principles.
  • Strong analytical aptitude with experience translating sales data into commercial decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience managing cross-functional and external vendor relationships.
  • High standards of presentation and product knowledge, with attention to detail and brand integrity.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Experience

Typically 3–5 years of progressive experience in retail merchandising, product management or buying within luxury or premium fashion, including direct interaction with department store partners and multidisciplinary internal teams.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Fashion Management or a related field preferred.
