Role & Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive fashion, trend, and textile image research.
  • Assist in the design and development of knitted fabrics with a practical approach.
  • Operate machine knitting, including domestic knitting machines.
  • Support hand knitting and sampling processes; proficiency in crochet is advantageous.
  • Contribute to garment development, including creating flat sketches.
  • Facilitate sampling, prototyping, and development processes.
  • Organize yarns, swatches, samples, and design files efficiently.
  • Support the team during collection development and fittings.

Qualifications

  • BA/MA degree in Fashion Design with a focus on knitwear.
  • Strong design sensibility and knowledge of knitwear.
  • Proficiency in machine knitting techniques.

Skills

Proficiency with domestic knitting machines and hand knitting. Understanding of knitted structures and textile development. Strong visual research and organizational skills. Meticulous attention to detail. Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Fluency in English, with French being advantageous.

Experience

Experience in fashion design with a focus on knitwear is preferred.

Education

BA/MA degree in Fashion Design.
