Chanel — Paris: Assistant Buyer Intern (Subcontracting, Watch & Jewelry) — internship starting July 2026.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the buyer in the end-to-end management of subcontracting relationships for watchmaking and jewellery suppliers.
  • Prepare and follow up purchase orders, acknowledgements and delivery schedules; track order status and escalate delays.
  • Assist with supplier qualification and onboarding processes, including documentation, compliance and quality requirements.
  • Collect and analyze cost and pricing data; contribute to margin analyses and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Coordinate technical and quality information between internal product, production and quality teams and external subcontractors.
  • Participate in RFQs/RFIs and comparative supplier assessments; consolidate supplier offers and prepare decision support materials.
  • Maintain procurement files, supplier databases and ERP records to ensure data integrity and audit readiness.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects within the subcontracting and sourcing function.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical aptitude with advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) is a plus.
  • Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail in documentation and follow-up.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and commercial interlocutors; commercial awareness of cost structures.
  • Proactive, collaborative attitude with the ability to prioritise competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional working proficiency in French; business English is advantageous.

Experience

Internship-level role. Candidates should be currently enrolled in a relevant degree programme; prior internships or short-term experience in procurement, purchasing or the watch/jewellery sectors are advantageous but not mandatory.

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related field.
