Role & Responsibilities
- Support senior retoucheurs/couturiers with fitting sessions, garment pinning and on-body adjustments.
- Execute hand-sewing and machine-sewing operations for alterations, mending and finishing under supervision.
- Prepare and organise garments for client appointments, ensuring impeccable presentation and tracking alteration requests.
- Assist with pressing, steaming and final quality checks to meet couture standards before client return.
- Maintain the atelier workspace and tools to the highest standards of cleanliness, order and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with ateliers and customer relations teams to respect delivery deadlines and client instructions.
Qualifications
- Enrolment in or recent completion of a vocational programme in tailoring, couture, fashion or equivalent.
- Demonstrable manual dexterity and meticulous attention to detail.
- Familiarity with couture techniques and respect for high-quality finishing standards.
- Ability to maintain discretion and professionalism when handling client garments and data.
- Flexible attitude and capacity to work within a fast-paced atelier environment.
Skills
Experience
Practical experience through internships, school ateliers or part-time work in a tailoring or couture environment is preferred; entry-level candidates with strong portfolio work and vocational training will be considered.
Education
Vocational qualification or current enrolment in a tailoring, couture or fashion programme (BTS, vocational diploma, apprenticeship or equivalent).
