Accounts Payable Accountant
Chanel is hiring a Contract Accounts Payable Accountant in Paris to manage supplier invoicing, payments and reconciliations.

Role & Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end supplier invoice lifecycle, including invoice validation, PO matching and posting to the general ledger.
- Schedule and execute supplier payments in accordance with payment terms and cash management policies.
- Reconcile supplier accounts, investigate and resolve aged items and discrepancies, and maintain the supplier ledger.
- Prepare month‑end accounts payable reconciliations, accruals and prepayments; support month‑ and year‑end close activities.
- Ensure VAT, withholding tax and local tax treatments are correctly applied and documented.
- Maintain robust internal controls over payables processes and support internal and external audits.
- Act as primary contact for supplier queries and liaise with procurement, treasury and business units to resolve issues.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support ERP/process implementation or optimisation projects as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent qualification.
- Professional accounting diploma or certification is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of accounts payable accounting, VAT and local tax rules applicable in France.
- Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail and proven integrity in financial processes.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise in a deadline-driven environment.
Skills
Experience
Approximately 2–4 years of hands-on accounts payable or general accounting experience, preferably within retail, luxury goods or consumer-facing sectors. Experience working in a multinational environment or supporting cross-border suppliers is advantageous.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a closely related discipline.
