Chanel seeks an Accountant in Bangkok to manage month‑end close, GL and tax compliance for Thailand operations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Own month‑end close activities for Thailand operations, including journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger; investigate and resolve balance sheet variances.
  • Prepare local statutory and management reports in accordance with IFRS and local requirements.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely posting and cash flow control.
  • Ensure compliance with Thai tax, VAT and withholding tax regulations and support tax filings.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and internal control teams to support statutory and group audits.
  • Liaise with regional finance and HQ teams to ensure alignment of accounting treatments and reporting timelines.
  • Drive process improvements and embed internal control best practices to strengthen financial governance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification preferred (CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Deep knowledge of Thai tax and VAT rules and practical experience applying IFRS in a local reporting context.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality and adherence to internal controls.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience

Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within luxury retail, consumer goods or a multinational environment; demonstrated exposure to ERP systems (SAP preferred) and to external audit processes.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA) preferred.
