Chanel is hiring an Accessories Quality & Test Specialist in Firenze Osmannoro. Specialist role focused on materials testing and quality control for accessories.

Role & Responsibilities

Design, implement and execute physical and functional tests for accessories (leather goods, metal fittings, hardware, trim and components) to verify conformity with Chanel internal standards.
Develop and maintain test protocols, sampling plans and acceptance criteria; author clear, reproducible test reports and certificates of analysis.
Perform incoming, in-process and pre-shipment inspections; carry out dimensional checks, visual assessments and mechanical testing (e.g. tensile, abrasion, fatigue, corrosion, colorfastness).
Collaborate with Product Development, Materials Laboratory, Production and Suppliers to investigate non-conformances, lead root-cause analyses and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Maintain laboratory equipment, ensure calibration and validation of instruments, and manage test records and traceability in accordance with quality procedures.
Monitor quality metrics and KPIs, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and support product validation during prototypes and seasonal launches.

Qualifications

Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Textile/Leather Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical diploma.
Practical knowledge of materials used in accessories: leathers, plated metals, hardware, textiles and finishes.
Familiarity with laboratory procedures, testing standards and quality systems (experience with ISO quality frameworks and EU material/regulatory requirements is advantageous).
Strong analytical mindset with demonstrable problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities.

Experience

Typically 3–5 years in quality control, materials testing or laboratory roles within leather goods, accessories, footwear or related consumer-goods manufacturing environment; experience working with suppliers and cross-functional teams in a production setting.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Textile/Leather Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical diploma.
