Accessories Quality & Test Specialist

Role & Responsibilities
- Design, implement and execute physical and functional tests for accessories (leather goods, metal fittings, hardware, trim and components) to verify conformity with Chanel internal standards.
- Develop and maintain test protocols, sampling plans and acceptance criteria; author clear, reproducible test reports and certificates of analysis.
- Perform incoming, in-process and pre-shipment inspections; carry out dimensional checks, visual assessments and mechanical testing (e.g. tensile, abrasion, fatigue, corrosion, colorfastness).
- Collaborate with Product Development, Materials Laboratory, Production and Suppliers to investigate non-conformances, lead root-cause analyses and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensure calibration and validation of instruments, and manage test records and traceability in accordance with quality procedures.
- Monitor quality metrics and KPIs, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and support product validation during prototypes and seasonal launches.
Qualifications
- Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Textile/Leather Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical diploma.
- Practical knowledge of materials used in accessories: leathers, plated metals, hardware, textiles and finishes.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures, testing standards and quality systems (experience with ISO quality frameworks and EU material/regulatory requirements is advantageous).
- Strong analytical mindset with demonstrable problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities.
Skills
Experience
Typically 3–5 years in quality control, materials testing or laboratory roles within leather goods, accessories, footwear or related consumer-goods manufacturing environment; experience working with suppliers and cross-functional teams in a production setting.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Textile/Leather Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical diploma.
