Role & Responsibilities

  • Analyze material and component needs based on sales forecasts and customer orders, and place production orders accordingly.
  • Review pre-purchase reports and manage cancellations.
  • Negotiate and ensure the quality, cost, and delivery timelines, as well as minimum order quantities (MOQ).
  • Ensure production timelines for materials and components, and enforce delivery schedules with manufacturers or logistics platforms.
  • Manage material allocations with manufacturers.
  • Communicate timelines and provide visibility on production planning with production managers and manufacturers.
  • Research alternatives for risky purchases and follow industrialization topics post-standardization.
  • Manage dormant, real, and off-site stock levels.
  • Verify and approve invoices.
  • Update reporting on the performance of internal and external suppliers.
  • Participate in supplier relations and monitor penalties.
  • Ensure suppliers adhere to Quality procedures.
  • Define certified materials and collect certificates during transactions.
  • Maintain a reference of materials and components through the creation of master binders for finished product manufacturers.
  • Control manufacturer inventories.
  • Monitor after-sales claims and order necessary parts for model repairs.
  • Order master piece matrices based on needs and/or stock.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field.

Skills

Strong organizational skills. Attention to detail and ability to work independently. Teamwork and adaptability. Versatility and initiative in production roles. Product sensitivity and quality awareness. Proficiency in Excel. Fluent in English; Italian is a plus.

Experience

A preliminary experience in purchasing, such as an internship or apprenticeship, is preferred.

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or equivalent.
