Role & Responsibilities
- Inspect and grade coloured gemstones for fine jewellery according to internal quality specifications (colour, clarity, cut, carat, symmetry and stability).
- Perform routine gemological tests using loupe and microscope; assist with refractometer, spectroscope and specific gravity measurements as required.
- Record inspection results, generate quality reports and maintain traceability documentation for stones within the atelier supply chain.
- Identify and segregate non‑conforming stones, report issues to gemology and production teams, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment, ensure compliance with workplace safety and internal quality procedures.
- Participate in structured training and skill development under the supervision of senior gemologists and quality managers as part of the work‑study programme.
Qualifications
- Enrolment in a recognised vocational or higher education programme in gemmology, jewellery-making, materials science or quality control (work‑study/alternance).
- Keen interest in gemology and fine jewellery, with strong observational skills and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work to precise standards, maintain meticulous records and apply methodical inspection routines.
- Willingness to learn specialised testing methods and follow atelier quality procedures; aptitude for technical training.

No prior professional experience required; previous internships or hands‑on experience in jewellery workshops, gemmology laboratories, or related quality roles is advantageous.
Education
Currently enrolled in a vocational or degree programme in gemmology, jewellery craft, materials science, or quality control (work‑study/alternance eligible).
