Cartier — Paris: Continuous Improvement Intern (Jewelry Workshop) to support process optimisation and kaizen initiatives in the new‑products atelier.

Overview

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support continuous improvement projects within the new‑products jewellery atelier, from diagnosis through to implementation and follow‑up.
  • Map production processes, identify bottlenecks and propose pragmatic countermeasures to improve quality, lead time and flow.
  • Collect, analyse and visualise operational data and KPIs to quantify improvement opportunities and track results.
  • Facilitate small‑scale kaizen workshops and 5S initiatives with ateliers, ensuring proposals respect artisanal constraints and design integrity.
  • Prepare process documentation, standard work instructions and presentations for stakeholders across product, production and quality teams.
  • Coordinate with craftsmen, production supervisors and product development to pilot changes and ensure sustainable adoption.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a university or grande école programme (Master's or final‑year Bachelor) in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, operations management, manufacturing engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable interest in luxury jewellery production and respect for artisan processes.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to translate data into operational recommendations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams, including craftsmen.
  • Fluency in French and professional working knowledge of English is strongly preferred.

Experience

Previous internship or academic projects in process improvement, manufacturing operations or industrial engineering preferred; hands‑on exposure to artisanal production environments is an advantage.

Education

Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering or a closely related discipline.
