Analytical Development Intern — Gemstones
Cartier — Paris: Analytical Development Intern (Gemstones). Internship to develop and validate laboratory protocols for fine gemstones in Cartier's gemology lab.

Role & Responsibilities
- Develop, optimise and validate analytical protocols for fine gemstones to support authentication, quality control and R&D initiatives.
- Perform laboratory analyses and sample preparation under supervision, maintaining meticulous documentation of methods, results and deviations.
- Collaborate with gemology, quality assurance and sourcing teams to translate analytical findings into actionable quality and sourcing recommendations.
- Contribute to method transfer and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring reproducibility and compliance with internal laboratory standards.
- Analyse and present data clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and assist in preparing technical reports and records for the laboratory.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Master's or engineering programme in chemistry, materials science, gemology, mineralogy or a closely related discipline.
- Practical laboratory experience through previous internships or academic projects, with demonstrable competence in routine analytical techniques.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce clear, well‑structured documentation.
- Capacity to work collaboratively within cross‑functional teams and adapt to the requirements of a luxury‑brand laboratory environment.

Experience
Academic laboratory experience with hands‑on work in analytical instrumentation and method development; prior internships in materials analysis, analytical chemistry or gemological laboratories are strongly desirable.
Education
Pursuing a Master's degree or engineering diploma in Chemistry, Materials Science, Gemology, Mineralogy or equivalent.
