Burberry seeks a Tax Coordinator in Sao Paulo to lead Brazilian tax compliance, filings (SPED, DCTF, ECF) and retail tax support.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise all tax routines for direct and indirect taxes (ICMS, IPI, PIS, COFINS, ISS, IRPJ, CSLL), ensuring accurate calculation and timely submission of returns and ancillary obligations.
  • Manage filings and statutory obligations including SPED Fiscal, EFD-Contribuições, DCTF Web and ECF, ensuring compliance with Brazilian tax legislation and deadlines.
  • Provide day-to-day tax support to retail operations (brick-and-mortar and e-commerce), including point-of-sale, intercompany transfers and store events.
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial and IT to align tax treatment across transactions and business processes.
  • Coordinate and supervise external advisors: allocate tasks, review deliverables and ensure quality and timeliness of outsourced work.
  • Support import/export tax matters in collaboration with the foreign trade team and review cross-border transactions for tax impact.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation, assess business impact and propose process, control and systems improvements.
  • Support tax audits, inspections and requests from tax authorities, internal auditors and external consultants; prepare documentation and responses.
  • Participate in tax automation, continuous improvement initiatives and ERP implementation or enhancement projects to drive efficiency and controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Law; post-graduate studies in taxation or corporate finance preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of Brazilian direct and indirect tax regimes (ICMS, IPI, PIS/COFINS, ISS, IRPJ, CSLL) and related filings (SPED, EFD-Contribuições, DCTF Web, ECF).
  • Proven ability to act as a business partner with cross-functional teams and external advisors, translating tax rules into pragmatic operational controls.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and project coordination skills; able to prioritise competing deadlines.
  • High ethical standards, analytic rigour and attention to detail when preparing statutory filings and audit responses.

Experience

Minimum of 4 years’ progressive experience in Brazilian tax compliance and reporting, ideally within retail, luxury goods, e‑commerce or a multinational environment; experience managing external advisors and participating in ERP or tax-automation projects.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Law; postgraduate qualification in taxation or related discipline preferred.
