Buccellati in Milan seeks a Supply Chain & Operations Trainee to support inventory, procurement and production planning for its luxury jewellery operations.

Overview

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day supply chain operations including inventory control, stock reconciliation and cycle counts to ensure availability and accuracy across ateliers and retail channels.
  • Assist in procurement and supplier coordination: prepare purchase orders, track deliveries, and follow up on lead times and quality issues with external vendors and internal ateliers.
  • Contribute to production and capacity planning by liaising with manufacturing teams, tracking work-in-progress and updating production schedules.
  • Prepare and analyze operational reports and KPIs (inventory turns, fill rate, lead times); identify variances and propose process improvements.
  • Coordinate logistics and distribution activities, including shipment tracking, customs documentation support and carrier communications.
  • Support ERP data entry and master-data maintenance; ensure product and location records are current and accurate.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects with planning, retail, and quality teams to optimize flows and reduce obsolescence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or current enrolment in supply chain management, industrial engineering, logistics, business administration or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong numerical and analytical aptitude with attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Professional disposition appropriate for a luxury goods environment: discretion, meticulousness and respect for artisanal processes.

Skills

Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic macros) Experience or coursework with ERP systems and data entry Inventory management and MRP fundamentals Operational reporting and KPI analysis Cross-functional coordination and stakeholder communication

Experience

Entry-level background with academic projects, internships or short-term work experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement or production planning. Demonstrable exposure to inventory control, data analysis or ERP environments is preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration or equivalent; recent graduates and current students on a traineeship pathway are encouraged to apply.
