Buccellati in Bologna seeks a Goldsmith/Silversmith to handcraft high‑end jewellery and silverware using traditional techniques.

Role & Responsibilities
- Execute hand‑craftsmanship of gold and silver pieces from prototype through final finish, using traditional techniques (engraving, chasing, repoussé, forging).
- Interpret technical drawings and translate design intent into precise metalwork and three‑dimensional forms.
- Perform soldering, assembly, setting and finishing operations to luxury standards, ensuring surface quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Conduct quality control on completed pieces, rectify imperfections, and ensure conformity with hallmarks and internal specifications.
- Collaborate with design, production planning and restoration teams to meet delivery schedules and conserve historical pieces when required.
- Maintain specialist tools, benches and small equipment; ensure a clean, safe atelier and adherence to workplace safety procedures.
- Mentor junior artisans and pass on traditional techniques within the atelier when applicable.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification in goldsmithing, silversmithing or equivalent artisan apprenticeship.
- Proven mastery of hand engraving, chasing and repoussé techniques.
- Strong knowledge of precious metals (gold alloys, silver) and hallmarking standards.
- Excellent manual dexterity, visual acuity and attention to surface detail.
- Ability to read technical drawings and measure to tight tolerances.
- Legal authorization to work in Italy (if not an EU national).
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in high‑end jewellery and/or silversmithing, preferably within a luxury maison or specialised artisan atelier. Experience delivering pieces to exacting quality standards and working from designers' technical drawings is required.
Education
Vocational diploma in goldsmithing/silversmithing or completion of a recognised apprenticeship; formal jewellery training preferred.
