Role & Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust and optimize CNC milling and turning centres for production of precision jewellery components and fittings in precious metals and fine alloys.
  • Interpret technical drawings and CAD outputs to generate or refine CNC programs (G-code) and tooling plans suited to micro‑tolerances.
  • Select, dress and verify cutting tools and fixtures; determine feeds, speeds and cutting strategies to preserve surface quality and minimise material waste.
  • Conduct in-process inspection using micrometers, calipers and other metrology instruments; record measurements and correct machine offsets to maintain dimensional conformity.
  • Collaborate closely with design, hand-finishing and quality teams to deliver parts that meet artisanal finish standards and assembly requirements.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting; document production runs and non-conformances in line with workshop procedures.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, cleanliness and handling protocols for precious materials and sensitive tooling.

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or vocational qualification in mechanical engineering, precision mechanics, or CNC technology (or equivalent apprenticeship).
  • Demonstrable experience with CNC machine set-up and adjustment in high-precision manufacturing (preferably jewellery, watchmaking, or micro‑machining).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tolerancing specifications.
  • Proven competence in precision measurement and quality-control techniques.
  • Commitment to meticulous workmanship and respect for artisanal finishing processes.

Experience
