Role & Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end product development for watch families, from technical specifications through prototype validation and industrialisation.
- Manage project timelines, milestones and cross-functional gates; maintain and update project plans and risk registers.
- Liaise with design, engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement and external suppliers to ensure alignment on technical requirements and delivery dates.
- Monitor development budgets, control change requests and prepare regular progress reports for senior stakeholders.
- Oversee supplier sample follow-up, material approvals, and prototype testing, ensuring compliance with technical dossiers and quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM), technical documentation and release packages for production.
- Drive continuous improvement of development processes and support product launch readiness activities with industrial teams.
Qualifications
- Proven competence managing complex, multi-disciplinary product development projects in a technical manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical watch components and complications, or equivalent mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate external suppliers and internal ateliers, with meticulous attention to technical detail.
- Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving aptitude and ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
- Project management training or certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2) is advantageous.
Skills
Experience
Several years (typically 5+ years) of progressive experience in product development or project coordination within luxury goods, precision engineering or watchmaking; proven track record managing cross-functional programmes and supplier networks.
Education
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial design, horology or equivalent; an advanced technical diploma or watchmaking qualification is a strong plus.
