Role & Responsibilities
- Define and deploy commodity category strategies aligned with product, quality and sustainability targets; drive total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction and value creation.
- Lead supplier selection, qualification and performance management for assigned commodities; conduct RFx processes and manage multi‑tier supplier relationships.
- Negotiate commercial terms, framework agreements and long‑term contracts with a focus on risk mitigation and compliance.
- Collaborate with design, product development, quality and operations to ensure materials readiness, technical compliance and timely supply for seasonal cycles.
- Develop and maintain cost models, market intelligence and price forecasting to inform sourcing decisions and budget planning.
- Implement supplier development initiatives, continuous improvement programs and corrective action plans where necessary.
- Monitor KPIs and produce regular procurement reporting and presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Champion sustainability, regulatory and ethical sourcing requirements within the commodity scope.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in commodity/category purchasing with strong negotiation and commercial acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute category strategies and run RFx processes end‑to‑end.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working cross‑functionally (design, quality, operations).
- Analytical mindset with experience in cost modeling, price benchmarking and supplier risk assessment.
- Capacity to manage complex, multi‑supplier sourcing in a fast‑paced, seasonally driven environment.
Skills
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in commodity or category procurement, preferably within luxury goods, apparel, textiles, packaging or FMCG; experience with international sourcing, contract negotiation and cross‑functional project leadership.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related discipline; Master's degree or professional procurement certification preferred.
