Retail Merchandising & Analysis Intern
Alaia — Paris: Internship for a Retail Merchandising & Analysis Intern supporting sales reporting, assortment analysis and store merchandising.
Overview

Role & Responsibilities
- Support retail merchandising team with weekly and monthly commercial reporting (sales, sell‑through, stock levels, ageing).
- Prepare and maintain data extracts, KPI dashboards and store-level scorecards to inform replenishment and allocation decisions.
- Analyse assortment performance by category, SKU and store; identify trends and provide actionable recommendations.
- Assist in building store packs, visual merchandising briefs and product launch calendars in collaboration with retail and VM teams.
- Contribute to seasonal inventory planning, promotions follow-up and markdown analysis.
- Produce presentations and internal reports for merchandising reviews and cross‑functional meetings.
- Execute ad‑hoc projects and database maintenance tasks to improve reporting accuracy and process efficiency.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Fashion Business, Merchandising, Business Analytics, Economics or equivalent.
- Strong numerical aptitude with proven ability to manipulate and interpret large datasets.
- Excellent organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
- Interest in luxury fashion, retail dynamics and product assortments.
- Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across commercial and retail teams.
- Fluency in French and professional proficiency in English.

Experience
Internship-level role; prior internships in retail, merchandising, planning or commercial analysis are advantageous but not mandatory. Demonstrable analytical coursework or project experience is desirable.
Education
Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fashion Management, Merchandising, Business, Economics, Statistics or a related field.
